My Journey Into Writing
If you had told me three years ago that I would be an author, I wouldn’t have believed you. Although I’ve always been passionate about stories, my dyslexia made the notion of writing seem unattainable. Yet, life has a funny way of surprising us.
In 2020, my world turned upside down. I was working in the niche fragrance industry when, within a month, I faced a series of life-altering health challenges. I battled sepsis, nearly lost kidney function, discovered that a genetic disease I had thought was dormant had destroyed my pancreas, and was diagnosed with Type 3c diabetes, among other issues. The following two years were a time of deep reflection—trying to understand how I ended up in that situation and what truly mattered to me.
One thing became crystal clear: I was not living in alignment with my values. The more I strayed from them, the sicker I became. So, in 2022, I made a bold decision—I left my corporate job to pursue something truly meaningful: inspiring children through storytelling.
If my health struggles taught me one thing, it’s that passion makes anything possible. Learning is a lifelong adventure, and I was ready to start fresh, bringing with me the many experiences I had gathered along the way.
As a child, my love for history fascinated—and slightly terrified—my parents. I could spend hours with my nose in books, imagining what life was like in the past. But beyond the dates of battles and great events, what intrigued me most was the daily lives of ordinary people—their struggles, dreams, and triumphs. History holds immense wisdom, and I wanted to bring that magic to young readers.
Then one morning, two characters appeared in my mind—Aria and Liam—running, laughing, and slipping through the corridors of time. That’s when I knew: I had to tell their story.
All my writing shares a common thread: the magic of life when we open ourselves to learn from it. I believe stories can be both fun and enriching, sparking curiosity while nurturing the imagination. Every day, I wake up excited to create stories that I hope will inspire children to embrace adventure, cherish friendship, and live authentically.
And to think, if you had told me three years ago that I would become an author, I wouldn’t have believed you. But here I am, proving to myself—and hopefully to others—that the best chapters of our lives are often the ones we never expected to write.
